helsinki underground bar
Down by the wharves in old Helsinki town we venture out for a night of infectiously good times, heavy music and weighty scores of drink. Our first stumbling block. It was no longer metal club. The financial crisis forced alternative bars to retreat to the safe ground of generic. This pleases those who had come under mild protest ne end. 1/2 litre tumblers of hoegarden filled the tables. A bar made of nooks and crannies surrounded by a jumble of walls and pillars in dispersed with tables of all sizes. A staircase at either end of this maze. One lead up to the street. The other to the toilets. Both seems to be used for the same purposed judging by the smell. The stroll home highlighted by the pirate ship restaurant on one side and red brick church on the other perched high on the towns only hill.
